Models

The Airviro Dispersion module provides a number of different numerical models.

The purpose of the models is basically to make it possible to calculate the dispersion of different air pollution substances on different geographical scales with meteorological input data from the Airviro time series database (Indico) and emissions input from emission databases (EDB), for specific time periods. Geographical and physiographic information is also fetched from Airviro databases.

Airviro supplies both its own unique models and many of the most established open models in the field of AQM (see list below), such as the AERMOD and CALPUFF models recommended by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US/EPA) and the AUSTAL2000 model developed on behalf of the German Federal Environmental Agency (UBA).

Furthermore, the modular implementation of the Airviro system ease the process of adding new dispersion models on request.
