UK ambient air network

Bureau Veritas manages the UK Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN) on behalf of the Department of Environment, Food and Regional Affairs (Defra) and the Devolved Administrations (DAs). One of the main purposes of the national air quality monitoring network is to enable the government to assess air quality across the territory and devise adequate suitable policy measures to protect the health of the population.

Data collection, monitoring, validation and dissemination is done using the Airviro system. Currently, BV is collecting data from about 200 stations, including the AURN stations.
